Fazbear Frights: Night 1
It was late summertime when you were fired from your recent job. Well, not really fired. You quit your job at the Jolly Marketplace before they could fire you. You just didn’t find it appealing to constantly help the Karens at the cash register, while only getting paid the minimum wage, even if you did work extra hours. Plus, with the lack of sleep and food, your dorm mate, Vanessa, finally convinced you to quit your job. The store you worked at was going bankrupt and had to fire many employees due to budget loss. However, getting another job was difficult since you didn’t really want to work as a store clerk again or stay in a cubicle from 9 to 5 every day of the week. Your dreams of becoming a software engineer or a robotics engineer were hopelessly crushed due to financial reasons. College was a waste since they didn’t teach you anything new. You couldn’t go to that prestigious school where famous engineers went to because of your poor salary and the ridiculous, unlucky streak that ran in the family; however, luck would finally be on your side as you found an ad for a job as the night guard for a “Haunted Pizzeria” attraction from a once popular pizzeria company. Or at least, so you thought…
When the day came for your first shift, you were excited for a new experience as a night guard for Fazbear Frights. Your uniform had not arrived yet, but you did your best to look the part with whatever spare clothes you had left in your closet. Hours before, you told your roommate about the ad and your new job. Vanessa was, how should you say this, peculiar in a way. She could always tell if something bad was going to happen. When you told her about the job, she tried to talk you into not going. She had heard rumors about the place, even going as far as looking over the records from Fazbear Entertainment, and their results were not very comforting. She was obviously worried about your safety and concerned about the fact that literally days ago, you quit your job and now suddenly you found this ad that was not in any other papers that were printed that day. You brushed off her warning and took your keys and headed out for your shift.
You happened to arrive early to your shift and decided to read the handbook that was sent over to your apartment. You were also given a little “survival” booklet that was used by a person named Mike. He wrote in red ink and had filled out some of the activities that were present in the booklet. As you kept on reading, you found that some words were altered while there were also some faded text. When you tried to read the text however, all you could comprehend were the words “wait”, “it's not your time”, and “it will come soon”. You found this odd, and when you finally realized that your shift was about to begin, you looked around to find it dark outside and nobody there in the first place. No one was there to take the shift from, and no one was there to explain what to do. Confused, you headed to the door and made your way to the office.
As you walked, you started to have breathing problems from the smog affecting your asthma, and a weird mold stench wafted in the air. You hurried over to the office, and there in front stood a desk with a fan, a telephone, a computer, and a monitor attached to the wall. Next to the desk on the wall was a vent that connected to God knows what. Across the desk stood a large glass pane that led to the hallway that was adjacent to the office. You sat down on the chair, and suddenly the phone rang. You jumped at the sudden sound and answered the call; however, when you picked up the phone, all you heard was a prerecorded message.
“Hello? Uh, hello hello? Hi! Welcome to your first night at Fazbear Frights! Uh, yeah, so the story behind this was a little weird, to be honest. So, after many pizzerias, Fazbear Entertainment decided to make a joke museum to dedicate the past as well as to try and cover up any mishaps and misfortunes that occurred. As you can see, the building is made to replicate the first Freddy Fazbear’s as much as possible while keeping the spooky atmosphere. Your job as the night guard is pretty simple: watch out for any suspicious activity while making sure nothing happens. Well, you should get back to your job. Good luck, and remember: Smile! You are the face of Freddy Fazbear’s.”
That was interesting. This call was not perfect; however, this was the best you could get at the moment. Maybe the one who called was feeling lazy and decided to play the pre-recorded message? That was probably it. Your night went on as smoothly as possible, although you did have more difficulty with breathing as time went on. There was nothing present on the cameras, and there were only two times when you needed to fix the camera. When the clock chimed, telling you that your shift was over, a huge wave of relief washed over you. For some reason, you were feeling tense and were always on guard, even when nothing major happened. When you finally arrived at your apartment, you made a mental note in your head to pick up an inhaler as you crashed onto your bed, tired from the night. You didn’t care about what your roommate had to say at the moment; all you wanted was to sleep as if your soul had passed on.
